National Women & Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is an annual observance to recognize the impact of HIV on women and girls. In our efforts to continue in relevant and compelling information The Afiya Center and Texas Black Women’s Initiative Dallas team will be hosting a special screening of “Wilhemina’s War”.
Wilhemina’s War is a new documentary that explores the devastating toll of HIV/AIDS on black women in the rural South through the story of Wilhemina Dixon, a one-woman army fighting for the survival of her family.
Following the movie screening there will be a panel discussion moderated by our Executive Director Marsha Jones
