Where We Stand discussion

December 3, 2016 @ 4:00 pm

With the recent election of Donald Trump as president of the United States, and an emboldened right wing, it is important that we continue to build and organize a left-wing in this country and internationally that can challenge the agenda of the right. Just as importantly, it is vital that we build movements and socialist organizations that oppose the whole of the capitalist system and puts forward an alternative to the politics of profit. The alternative to capitalism is socialism, a system based on workers’ control of the means of production and a system based on meeting human need.

International Socialist Organization (ISO) members will be meeting with people who are interested in learning more about the politics of the International Socialist Organization this Saturday, December 3, at 4 pm. We will be sending out the location once we have secured one.

We will be discussing an ISO pamphlet called Where We Stand to help center and introduce a discussion of our basic principles and politics (http://www.internationalsocialist.org/pdfs/WhereWeStandPamphlet.pdf)

People who are attending are encouraged to read as much as possible, and come prepared with questions and comments. If you are unable to read all of it, we still encourage you to attend. The pamphlet is about 30 pages long.

The purpose of this meeting is to meet with people who are interested in learning more about our politics with the purpose of joining if they are in agreement with the politics of the ISO. However, if you are unsure where you stand, or are just wanting to learn more, without necessarily joining, we still encourage you to attend.

If you are unable to attend this meeting, but would like to discuss the Where We Stand with someone, please message the ISO Facebook page.
