Connect. Organize. Change.
This is a peer support group that we would like to start, and right now we are looking for persons who could guide a group discussion such as this.
The purpose is to provide a safe space for trans and gender diverse survivors of violence to talk about their experiences, how they are coping, and learn about other resources that may be available to help them cope.
Eventually, we would like to develop projects similar to, for example, FORGE’s Espavo Project (http://forge-forward.org/anti-violence/for-survivors/espavo-project/), which is designed to help survivors take their power back!
As a peer support group, participation is limited to those who have experienced violence and select individuals who have experience working with survivors. If you would be interested in helping start this group, and especially if you are both a survivor and have experience working with peer survivors, please feel free to drop by between 6pm and closing to help develop this effort.
