TPI Prison Services Committee Meeting

Come and learn about our Prison Services Committee, doing work to support and advocate for incarcerated trans persons across Texas.

One object of all our committees is to grow participation and encourage leadership through support, encouragement, and community participation! We hope to rotate facilitators to give people experience planning and running meetings, with help from committee leaders when needed.

In Prison Services, we are currently writing letters and taking on other tasks to support incarcerated trans persons. One task is design an publication of two texts written by incarcerated members on surviving prison in general, and surviving solitary confinement.

We’ll be teaching the basics about letter writing and coming together to support each other with advice and debriefing (some of the letters and situations can be very heavy and emotionally challenging) so we all help each other do this better.
