Meet others and discuss why Trump won, what he’ll do, and how we can fight him. Bring your own snacks (non-alcoholic) drinks to share. Start planning what can be done locally to build the left over the next four years.

About the speakers:

Naomi Klein is an award-winning journalist, syndicated columnist and author of the international bestsellers, No Logo, The Shock Doctrine, and most recently “This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs the Climate.” Her column for the Nation magazine is syndicated internationally by the New York Times Syndicate. She is a member of the board of directors for350.org, a global grassroots movement to solve the climate crisis and a Puffin Foundation Writing Fellow at The Nation Institute.

Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylorr is an assistant professor in Princeton University’s Center for African American Studies and the author of From #BlackLivesMatter to Black Liberation, an examination of the history and politics of Black America and the development of the social movement Black Lives Matter in response to police violence in the United States. Taylor has received the Lannan Foundation’s Cultural Freedom Award for an Especially Notable Book. Her articles have been published in Souls: A Critical Journal of Black Politics, Culture and Society, Jacobin, New Politics, the Guardian, In These Times, Black Agenda Report, Ms., International Socialist Review, Al Jazeera America, and other publications.

Anand Gopall is a journalist and author of “No Good Men Among the Living: America, the Taliban and the War Through Afghan Eyes.” His book was a finalist for the 2015 Pulitzer Prize and for the 2014 National Book Award. Gopal has served as an Afghanistan correspondent for The Wall Street Journal and The Christian Science Monitor, and has reported on the Middle East and South Asia for Harper’s, The Atlantic, the Nation, The New Republic, Foreign Policy, and other publications.

Owen Jones is a London-based writer, commentator and activist. He writes frequently for the Guardian, Independent and New Statesman, and has worked in Parliament as a trade union lobbyist and parliamentary researcher, helping Labour plan backbench rebellions on issues ranging from civil liberties to workers’ rights.
