Texas Senate Hearing on Property Tax Reform and Relief

Join TOP as we raise public awareness of and support for drawing down federal Medicaid dollars at the next Texas Senate Property Tax Reform and Relief hearing.

Texas has both the highest number of people as well as the highest rate of uninsured in the country.

The burden of that falls onto local taxpayers who end up paying for healthcare THREE TIMES OVER: 1) We pay through our insurance premiums (if we have insurance) 2) We pay through rising healthcare costs from our providers and 3) We pay through our local property taxes that go to support safety net hospitals and healthcare systems that care for the uninsured and don’t get paid otherwise.

We need accept federal healthcare dollars, Medicaid Expansion dollars to relieve the increasing need and pressure to raise local taxes to meet the increasing demand on our local healthcare providers.
