The Denton ISO will be hosting a watch party of the State of the Union address at UNT (room to be determined). We will provide snacks! Bring a comrade, sit back, and watch the absurdity. Afterwards, we’ll view the livestream of the Socialist Response to Trump on Twitter. Join us the next day for our weekly meeting which will cover the address: https://www.facebook.com/events/810228879161458/
From the national ISO Facebook event (https://www.facebook.com/events/1819444398348299/):
“On January 30, Donald Trump will give his first State of the Union Address. The speech comes after a year of a White House-led all-out assault on the working class, immigrants, Muslims, women, people of color, LGBTQ folks, people with disabilities, and the planet. It has also been a year in which the “opposition party”–the Democrats–has failed to stop the attacks, let alone offer an alternative, whether on immigration, health care, foreign policy, or anything else.
With Trump continuing the attack–on people with DACA and TPS, and threatening war on the Korean Peninsula–the speech is sure to be outrageous, terrifying, offensive, and absurd in that Trumpian kind of way. Socialist Worker will be responding on its Facebook page and live tweeting in response to the speech @SocialistViews, and you’re invited to join the conversation. After the speech, tune in for a Facebook livestream of the Socialist Response to Trump, given by Alan Maass, the editor of Socialist Worker.
