SB4 Court Injunction Rally

Chief U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia issued a temporary injunction on SB 4 confirming the obvious: SB4 is anti-immigrant and anti-democracy. This injunction blocks the worst parts of the law – forced collusion with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the ability of local law enforcement to inquire about immigration status, and the power of democratically elected officials to choose how they want to engage with federal immigration officials.

RAICES, Texas Organizing Project, Unite Here, Move SA, SA Pro Immigrant Coalition, SA Free Speech Coalition, and Mi Familia Vota will be hosting a rally and press conference tomorrow morning in front of the federal courthouse to talk about the recent court ruling against SB4!

All of the cities and counties who joined the lawsuit, all the law enforcement officers who spoke out against SB 4 must take this as a sign that their action was worth it. We now call upon them to adopt local policies to stop the collusion between police and ICE.
