Say Her Name: A Light Action for Sandra Bland

The North Texas Light Brigade will be in Houston on Wednesday night with members of TOP, CodePink and others to answer a national call for light actions to lift up the name of Sandra Bland. Sandra’s death in a Texas jail cell, three days after she was unjustly and violently arrested during a bogus traffic stop, has moved communities around the country to demand answers. Since Sandra spent the last days of her life in Texas, we feel it is especially important for us to show our love and solidarity during this difficult time.

We hope you will join us to put Sandra Bland’s name in bright lights, honor her spirit, and demand justice.

We’ll gather on 8:45pm on Wednesday, July 29, at the overpass bridge located at the 59 Freeway and Hazard (4655 Hazard St.) in Houston. Please wear black or dark clothing and bring insect repellent.
