Rally to Restore Local Control

Join this community protest as we call attention to what is happening not only in Denton, but across Texas! We will gather outside of City Hall to call attention to the place we want power restored to- the local level!

The effects of House Bill 40 are already being seen as fracking trucks roll back into Denton. Denton voted to ban fracking from it’s city limits in November. House Bill 40 overturns the people’s vote and strips our community of it’s right to determine our own quality of life with ordinances that protect health and safety.

This bill not only affects Denton. HB40 overturns more than 300 ordinances put in place by local communities across Texas regarding oil and gas operations. We say that the people living and breathing in these communities have the most right and are indeed the most responsible party to make these choices for their health and safety.

We will bring all the signs that volunteers made at our last meeting, but feel free to bring your own homemade signs as well! Family friendly event, kids welcome!
