Today, the sister of Jackie Anderson, whose body was found on July 27 in an abandoned convenience store at 7400 Scott St., will ask the public for their help in finding her sister’s killer. Debra Walker, Jackie’s sister, will also call for greater police and community involvement in that neighborhood, which has one of the highest crime rates in the city.
“It’s time for all community members and law enforcement to work together to stop the longtime deterioration of Sunnyside,” said Ms. Walker. “Despite what the stats and media may say, people in Sunnyside have pride in our community. We are a resilient people, and will not allow tragedy to scare us away or make us back down from what we know is right.”
