Phone Banking for the TRE

While the board vote for a 13¢ or or 6¢ TRE didn’t happen this past weekend, as previously hoped, the added time does provide us a new opportunity to apply even more pressure towards the Trustees to allow families in Dallas ISD to make the decision on whether or not to invest in our students. Some Trustees has said that they do not believe their constituents are in favor of a property tax increase, despite evidence from the community and data from parent surveys saying the exact opposite.

On Thursday from 5PM – 8PM, TOP (Texas Organization Project, New Address: 400 S Zang Blvd Suite 1025, Dallas TX 75208) will be organizing a phone bank to call constituents, inform them of the issue, and ask them to make their voices heard to their Trustees before the vote. There will be pizza and some great company, as well as $70m – $100m annually on the line for our students!
