**DALLAS LGBTQIA AND ALLIES- WE NEED YOUR VOICES**

The Trump administration sent a “guidance letter” via the Justice and Education Departments to schools across the country announcing that President Obama’s guidelines to protect the rights of transgender students are “withdrawn and rescinded.”
This action leaves transgender students open to **official** discrimination by school authorities and others, and is unacceptable. Trans students in Texas are particularly at risk for active discrimination by local school authorities across the state. Our governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general seek to make such discrimination legal by passing laws that deny safety, privacy, and dignity to all transgender Texans in public schools.
