Denton City Council Votes on New Fracking Ordinance

This Tuesday is our last chance to make our voices heard before City Council votes on the new set of fracking regulations that will go into effect as soon as the current moratorium expires in two weeks. We are asking everyone to please join us at the City Council meeting to demand stronger regulations!

We need the strongest protections we can get while considering the limitations posed by HB40. Unfortunately, in several ways the regulations being proposed by City Council are weaker than the protections we had in place before our ban.

Until local control is restored our only line of defense will be whatever regulations we can convince City Council to pass on Tuesday. It’s critical that we pack the council chambers and do everything we can to strengthen the proposed ordinance before the vote.
