Denton City Council Votes on Gas Plants

This Tuesday Denton City Council will be voting on a new long-term energy plan that includes spending $265 million to build gas-fired power plants in Denton. If our elected council approves this dangerous plan, residents will be forced to breathe poisoned air for decades.

The rate of childhood asthma in the DFW area is 20-25%, compared to the national average of 10% and the Texas statewide average of 9%. According to the American Lung Association Denton has F rated air quality. Our most vulnerable members of society simply can not afford new sources of toxic emissions.
