Dallas rally against DeVos & cuts to public education

September 20, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Over the next six weeks, Congress will be focused on a new federal budget. Both President Trump and House Republicans have introduced budgets that drastically slash spending on public education by $9 BILLION – eliminating programs that have been critical, particularly for low-income students and children of color.

At the same time, they are proposing revisions to the federal tax code – revisions that increase tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans. The nation’s richest people stand to gain, while our children and communities are thrown under the bus!

Betsy DeVos, the U.S. Secretary of Education, is one of those wealthy Americans.

DeVos, like Trump, has shown extraordinary ignorance and disdain for the lives of working class and poor families, and most of all, Black and Latino communities. We cannot allow the Trump/DeVos agenda to move forward.

This Dallas event is part of a coordinated day of action nationwide!
