Connect. Organize. Change.
The Afiya Center grieves with the families of Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, the police officers who lost their lives in Dallas, and the families of the other countless unrecorded murders that have occurred over last 72+ hours. While we stand against the killing of black people we do not condone last week’s violence on Dallas law enforcement, as they are also members of our communities and families.
The Afiya Center would like to invite you to come and join us tomorrow night 6:00-7:30PM…Realizing that many of us:
Have folk we love on real serious that also work on various police departments;
Many of us have folk we love on real serious that’s been victimized by this system;
Many of us have folk we love on real serious that’s opposed to this system;
Many of us have folk we love on real serious that’s out here working to end injustice and violation of human rights of and to black and other people of color.
….and most time we all have to share the same space at the same time…. What do we do?
The Afiya Center offers our space to families and others an opportunity to start these conversations in a safe, brave, and non-judgmental space.
Join us tomorrow night Wednesday 6pm-7:30pm at The Afiya Center and began the healing process in our own homes…
