Choice + Champs Fete

CHOICE + Champs begins to redefine Reproductive Choice and brings awareness to the Reproductive Justice Movement in Texas. It is also a call to action for like-minded professionals within the DFW Metroplex area looking to get involved and change the status quo within communities they are connected to.

This event is a fundraiser for the 1st Ever Texas Black Women Reproductive Justice Policy Summit and the launch our campaign: #TXBlackWomenRiseUp.

THE SUMMIT is a convening of leading women’s rights and reproductive justice advocates who will shed light on reproductive oppression’s harmful effects on women.

THE CAMPAIGN is a movement produced by and for black women in direct response to the lack of press coverage, effective policy strategies, and advocacy initiatives designed for Black women’s reproductive health in the state of Texas. Through this campaign, The Afiya Center will challenge the history of shame attached to black women’s choices in birthing using the reproductive justice framework.
